I’m waiting for some new equipment to arrive before I continue with my current project. My sketchbook needed some attention so here is a page from tonight. Women are so difficult for me to draw and yet I wish so badly to draw them well.
I’m spending more time on the layout this time around. This is the stage of drawing at which I am most practiced. Plotting as many details as possible at this point will allow me to focus on technique when I get to the less proficient task of rendering shadows and texture.
I really need to get moving if I want to finish this before the summer. Come on, Steve, get going!
Giving my brain a break in the afternoon and then hitting the gym turned out to be just what I needed. I couldn’t wait to finish dinner and get started.
